MTN through a package called MTN Xtra Time gives you the chance to request for (borrow) Airtime from them whenever you want to do something important but you find out that you are short of airtime.
MTN XtraTime package from MTN gives every registered MTN user the opportunity to BORROW airtime to perform any activity on the network be it for calls or data or any other chargeable activity on the network.
HOW DOES MTN XTRA TIME WORK
MTN Xtra Time is mostly for subscribers whose line must have been active on the network for at least 12 months and work on the basics of your recharge cycle on the network as well as the subscribers
recharge frequency.That is, your airtime recharge history will determine how much you can borrow from MTN and if MTN will grant your request to borrow airtime from them
To be eligible to enjoy MTN Xtra time at anytime, the subscriber's main airtime balance must be between #0 to #12 and anything above that will not make you eligible. A subscriber also needs to pay up for
any previous outstanding Xtra Time balance before requesting to borrow another one.
To access MTN XtraTime simply Dial *606#.
The following Menu will then be displayed:
1. Check Eligibility Status
2. Request for XtraTime
3. Check XtraTime Balance
4. XtraTime Transaction History
5. About XtraTime
6. Exit
From the menu displayed you can use the corresponding number value to check eligibility status, request for XtraTime, check XtraTime Balance and learn more about XtraTime.
When an eligible customer requests for XtraTime, the XtraTime credit will be loaded in a special XtraTime account once the request is approved.Customers can check their Special XtraTime account balance by
dialling *606#
MTN XtraTime attracts a service charge of 10% of the airtime borrowed.For example, if N100 XtraTime is requested for, a service fee of N10 is first deducted, and the remaining N90 is credited to the customers special XtraTime account.
If you borrow airtime from MTN through MTN Xtra Time and Dial the regular balance enquiry code, the balance shown is with a negative sign denoting how much you are owing MTN. For example, if you borrow #200 from MTN and you check your airtime balance with *556#, you will see -200 which means that you are owing MTN #200.
